Crochet info (apply for the crochet edge): Substitute the first dtr beg. of round with 4 ch.
Shawl:- Read Crochet tips. Crochet 5 ch and make a ring with a sl st. Then crochet according to M.1 NB! Crochet all dtr around the ch-loops from previous row. After M.1 is completed continue the inc. at the sides the same way as done earlier until the piece measures 80 cm in the height.
Crochet edge: - read crochet info! Crochet 1 row around all off the shawl as follows: Around the small loops (4 ch/dtr) from the shawl: 3 dtr, 1 ch.
Around the big loops (8ch/ quadruple tr) from the shawl and the ring at the beginning of the shawl: *3 dtr, 1 ch*, repeat from *-* 2 times.

At the same time, increase 4 sts on every other row (= from the right side) as follows: knit 4, 1 yo, 1 yo on each side of the middle 8 sts and 1 yo when there are 4 sts left on needle. On next row, knit yo’s to create holes. When piece measures 6-7-8 (9-10) cm, discontinue the slit and continue round on needle – knit all sts. Continue the increases, i.e. on each side of the middle 8 sts back and front. When there are 138-148-158 (168-178) sts on round, purl 1 round, knit 1 round whilst inc 1 st in every 4th st on round. Meassurement: approx 220 cm wide x 80 cm high
Materials: Drops “Cottton Viscose”
400 g colour no 05, red
DROPS Crochet hook size 4 mm – or the crochet hook size needed to obtain correct crochet tension
------------------------------
Crochet tension: 1 square = 20 cm wide x 16 cm high
Pattern: See diagram M.1 and M.2. M.2 shows enlarged square of M.1. English Translations for the wording in the diagram are given at the bottom of this pattern, and they are given in the vertical order in which they appear in the diagram.
Tips for measuring: Due to weight of yarn, shawl will get much bigger when held up.

5- shawl crochet

Measures: Width at the top: approx. 210 cm
Length at the mid back: approx. 80 cm
Materials: DROPS Silke-Alpaca
500 g colour no. 6230, grey blue
DROPS crochet hook size 6 mm or the size needed to obtain the correct crochet tension.
Crochet tension: 2.5 tr groups in the width x 4 tr groups in the height, using hook size 6 mm and Silke-Alpaca = 10 x 10 cm.
Pattern: See diagram M.1. The diagrams are seen from the RS. English Translations for the wording in the diagrams are given at the bottom of this pattern, and they are given in the vertical order in which they appear in the diagram.
Measurement tips: Because of the weight of the yarn, all measurements should be made whilst the garment is hanging.
Crochet tips: For a quadruple tr crochet the same way as done for a dtr (see school of crochet – page 3), but make 4 yo’s around the hook (instead of 2) before pulling the hook through the st in the work.
Continue only to crochet along the sides of the shawl – not the top edge:
